I bought the prototype EarthRoamer ER2K or as I like to call it, The ExploreMoreMobile

I won't write much about it here, just a teaser picture and link to the new blog for the ExploreMoreMobile.  Go there to see yet another rebuild and the most amazing expedition vehicle to date for me.

The van is for sale. 6-3-12

The van has been sold to a really nice guy in Germany.  I hope he continues to have many adventures with it.

It's been a great vehicle.  As you can see by the blog, many adventures.  A few mishaps here and there too.  Nothing to hide.  The price is $44k.  93k miles.  contact me by email. tok2tom@gmail.com
Pictures after the descriptions.
Tom.

I'm the second owner, bought it with 40,000 miles on the odometer. Maintained by myself
based on the requirements in the owners manual. It was professionally converted to 4x4
by Crossed up OffRoad in Tucson, AZ. The four wheel drive components are from an F-250
which had 22,000 miles on it. It now has 93,000 miles. I'm the sole operator of the
vehicle and know it very well. In the 5 years I've owned it I've had one major
mechanical problem. The rear pinon seal went out. The vent tube was blocked with dirt
causing the failure. Other than this one incident the van has been rock solid, always
starting and running like a top. This is a very dependable van. Everything works as it
should. The only negatives this vehicle has are minor flaws here and there from normal
wear and tear. I've kept a blog since getting the van. It is unedited and a true account of owning the van. http://www.sportsmobile4x4.blogspot.com I still have a few items I'd like to finish before I show including refinishing the pop top. The listing is starting a little early due to the emails I've received after posting to TracyAZ. I'm somewhat flexible on the price. It's tough to know how to price these based on all of the options. Many more pictures on request.

Had to wrap the new exhaust because of transmission temps rising.

Here is a shot of the new 4" exhaust coming off the turbo.  Big pipe, barely fits in there.  Can't say enough about how I like this 4" exhaust.  Except for one problem.
If you look carefully you can see where the exhaust actually rubs up against the transmission for about two square inches.  Perfect for transferring those hot exhaust gasses right into transmission temp increases.  When I'd pull up a long grade the transmission temps would rise to 220+.
I hope this will be the solution.  I wrapped the pipe from the turbo down past the transmission.  I was also able to bend, bang, and knock, the exhaust away from the transmission.  I now have the wrap on there and a quarter inch of clearance.
I haven't pulled a grade yet to test it.  Confidence is high.  Looks kind of cool wrapped up like that.

Travel Pictures. Where I've been the last two years.

I just wanted to share some photos of where I've been in the last two years.  I've spent a lot of time traveling in the van.  This last year I've lived in the van more than out of it.  This is La Ventana, Baja 2010.
On the course of the Baja 1000 in 2010.
Moab 2009 exploring slot canyons.
Utah 2010.  Back way to Escalante.
Moab, Utah.  Riding motorcycles.  Slick rock trail in the background.
Utah 2010 more motorcycle riding.
Utah 2010, too cold here, heading back to AZ.
Somewhere in Colorado 2010.

Alta Lakes, Colorado 2010.
Alta Lakes, Colorado 2010.
One more picture of Alta Lakes in Colorado.  My Dad in the process of catching a trout.  This is the perfect sportsmobile camp spot.  It's up a dirt road which keeps RV's and most people out.  It's free, and absolutely beautiful.
